Celebrating Read Across America Day!

Grace, Jack, and I proudly participated in the annual Read Across America Day today! We spent most of our morning reading books together and at one o'clock this afternoon, along with thousands of other children across America, we stopped what we were doing to read together. Our book of choice was The Cat In The Hat by Dr Seuss.
Grace was very excited about Read Across America Day today. Grace looked at her map of the United States during calendar time this morning and pointed to many different states while saying, "Children in (state's name) will read books for Read Across America Day too." Jack participated in his very first Read Across America Day ~ how exciting! Jack loved sitting in Grace's small green chair to look at the book Wet Pet, Dry Pet, Your Pet, My Pet! by Dr. Seuss. Jack was full of smiles as Grace and I read this book to him.

"You're never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child."

I LOVE Read Across America Day! And, I LOVE that you have Read-in-the-Leger-Home everyday!

I can just hear Grace naming so many states and saying that they will read today! Couldn't you just eat her up during calendar time!?! And, what about our Jack, sitting right up in the green chair!?! How absolutely fortunate that they are to have a Mommy that reads to them. Better than all the toys in the world!

I have a Dr. Seuss quote for Grace~
"Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive that is Youer than You."

Wasn't that just perfect for Grace!?

Now here's one for Jack~
"Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one."

Just perfect...for Jack's sweet baby days!

Have a deliciously warm day. It's real cold after the snowstorm yesterday. March definitely "came in like a lion" this year! Let's hope that the adage is true and in just a few weeks it will be gentle and lamb-like! I know that you are so waiting to get your BIG double stroller out for a daily walk with the children, Rebecca! Winter is snow-much fun, isn't it...especially when we are ALL waiting and wanting Spring!
Have a days full of books, projects and sweet love, Maddy
