The Very Hungy Caterpillars!

Last summer Maddy sent away for caterpillars so Grace could watch their miraculous transformation into beautiful butterflies. When we were in Vermont last week Maddy surprised Jack and Grace with more caterpillars. Hooray! We have been closely watching the caterpillars eat, eat, and eat some more over the past several days as they have been preparing to enter their pupal stage. As of this morning, all five of Grace and Jack's caterpillars are now in beautiful iridescent chrysalids. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of five beautiful butterflies over the next week.

You are an Amazing Grace! ~ said...

What a picture!
We have never-ever seen a child more involved and interested in everything around her as Grace. Her attention to every little detail is incredible. We are stunned by the way Grace relays her descriptions of things and stories with such flowing detail. That sweet voice and personality of hers is still in our home. We are always talking about one of the many moments that she shared with us last week! We find ourselves answering and talking to each other in "Grace-talk" all the time!! She has such a way of getting into your mind and heart that the only thing you can do is try to reenact some of her moments!

Grace, you are a budding scientist, already exhibiting excellent investigative skills.
There is so magic in nature, and you are going to find it.
