Hammered Wildflower Prints

We went outside early yesterday morning to pick a variety of wildflowers to make hammered flower prints. Notice that Grace and Jack were wearing footsie sleepers in the middle of June! I had almost packed them away until the fall but the cooler weather has returned once again.

When we went inside Grace and Jack arranged their wildflowers on a pieces of watercolor paper.

Grace and Jack placed a piece of waxed paper over their wildflowers and pounded them with a hammer.

Here is one of Grace and Jack's finished hammered wildflower prints.

Hi, my budding young artists. What great artwork! I really like it. Quite delicate...like an echo asking a shadow to dance.

Love, Poppy
