Sound Exploration

Grace spent the morning experimenting with sound by placing objects inside a large tin container with a lid. We gathered several different types of objects from around our house including balls, blocks, beads, socks, play silks, buttons, tissues, etc. We put the objects into the tin container one a time. Grace then shook the container to hear how the various objects sounded inside. Grace predicted whether the chosen object in the container would make a loud or a quiet sound. Finally, we took turns putting in one object at a time while the other person closed her eyes. We shook the container again and had fun taking turns to guess what object was inside!

My Dearest Grace,
You remind me so much of your Mommy in this picture! When I first looked at you in was like a flash back in time. When we come up for your Birthday Party, Poppy and I want to play the sound exploration game with you. We are looking all over our home for sound things to bring up. Poppy has certainly found some "interesting" items. I can't even begin to tell you how much we are missing you right now. We really need to see you soon or we will go berserk, just like Ella does sometimes!
Have a delightful weekend and family time,
Love Forever and Ever,
Maddy

Dear Grace,
While you and your Mom were exploring sounds this morning, I was enjoying a delightful morning shopping and chatting with your Maddy. She is so full of wonderful Grace stories... I won't tell you about the many purchases she made for you and your baby brother, Jack... But, we had such fun filling bags and bags of goodies that will delight you and Baby Jack.
You are a special girl, with a very special family... I am so happy to be a friend of the family...
Bless you and your family sweet Grace...
Hugs from rainy Vermont,
