Our Snowy Morning

When we woke up this morning it was snowing outside. I thought it would be fun to celebrate this snowy day by making a snowman! Grace thought this was a great idea and upon hearing this she asked to wear her snowman shirt. Grace later added a hat and scarf to complete her snowy day outfit! After getting dressed we gathered all of our snowman books and put them in a bin next to the reading chair in our living room. Grace and Jack cuddled together in the chair and Grace read Jack several of her snowman books. Jack especially enjoyed hearing Grace's version of the book, Snowmen At Night by Caralyn Buehner.
Here is a close up of Grace's snowman button shirt made by Maddy ~ the perfect choice for today!
After reading books, Grace went to work making her snowman. Grace glued cotton balls onto three paper plates, which we taped together to make our snowman. Grace then decorated a scarf and we later glued on a hat, eyes, a carrot nose, and a mouth. Grace used sticks for the arms.
I asked Grace what she wanted to name her snowman and she said Frosty. We hung Frosty over Grace's art area so Grace can look at it while she works at her art table. Jack will also be able to see Frosty while playing on his play mat!

I love the first photo of Grace reading to Jack. He looks so interested, attentive and alert. He already knows that his BIG sister and books are pretty cool!
The Legers make the most of every day... You are an inspiration, Rebecca, I wish all children could have a home likes yours, bless you and Bob for knowing how important early childhood is...

I love the book reading under the snowy white blanket and Grace and Jack sharing special times. Frosty is beautiful! What a great activity on a snowy day! You are the best, Rebecca! Give the little "snow kiddos" hugs and kisses from me.
Warm Love, Maddy

I am enthralled by all that Grace does! She makes the most of each activity, offering suggestions and adding a lot of enthusiasm. She's a wonder! And Jack thinks so too! He appears enraptured with the stories that Grace is reading to him. I just love it all!
