Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Coconut Trees!

Grace & Jack made these coconut trees this morning! Their trees are modeled after the coconut trees in the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin, Jr. and John Archambault. Grace & Jack both love this book. Grace has the entire book memorized and she recites it to Jack many times each day. Grace & Jack used their footprints to make the leaves on their trees and later used their fingerprints to add on the coconuts.
Grace loves to paint her feet and make footprints so this activity was so much fun for her. Later Grace gathered all of her baby dolls, painted their feet green, and had them all make leaf footprints too!Grace helped me paint Jack's little feet green. Jack clearly loved having his feet painted too. Jack's footprints made such cute little leaves on his coconut tree!Jack's adorable feet painted green! Gracie girl shows off her green feet!

After making the coconut trees Grace, Jack, and I had a dance party! We have Chicka Chicka Boom Boom on CD. One version of the book is set to music so we grabbed our play silks and danced away to Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!

What an activity! And, Rebecca you aren't even feeling well! I could kiss those green feet! I LOVE all the pictures but I can't get enough of Grace sitting with those adorable green tootsies! And that smoochy smile on Jack's face is way too cute! I bet Emily, Jane, Violet and Anna enjoyed Grace painting their feet, too. The dance party must have been tremendous fun! What a marvellous way to spend a Friday.
