We went to a mattress store today to buy Grace a mattress for her BIG GIRL BED! We have been planning on converting Grace's crib to a big girl bed for several months and Grace now states that she is ready for the big event! Mommy and I, on the other hand, are chuck full of butterflies, consternation, angst - and any other feeling that falls in the general vicinity of anxiety. Grace enjoyed trying out all of the mattresses and promised that she would sleep soundly on any of the mattresses she laid on.
Baby Jack set a great example for Grace by sleeping on all of the beds he was placed on!!
In this picture, Grace senses a pea under the mattress. I'm not saying that she is a sensitive sleeper but she can tell a sweet pea from a chick pea from six box springs away!

This could become the new favorite adventure. It could take quite a while to get to all the stores that carry mattresses, and, then, you might have to go back again for other tests. Until you buy, this is cheap entertainment.
Maybe you should ask Grace to sign a statement of intent to sleep during the night on her new mattress. Well, for all intents and purposes, she looks like she is motivated and is being well prepared for the change. How are Mommy and Daddy doing?

Oh, my goodness gosh! It seems like just yesterday that we went out to buy mattresses for Adam and Rebecca! And now, I just turned around and it is time for Grace! I cannot wait for our next visit to "sneek a peek" of Grace sleeping in her Big Girl bed. I'll be making pretty pillowcases and a throw pillow to match! Grace and Jack are so, so cute sleeping on the big bed.
