Memorial Day

Let us not forget those men and women who have served our great nation during times peace and conflict. Because they gave their "last full measure of devotion," we are forever in their debt. ~Laura Slaton Phillips~
We attended our local Memorial Day parade in town. Grace looked on with amazement as the parade began!
Grace loved being on Daddy's shoulders after the parade ended. She proudly waved her American flag to all of the parade onlookers.
A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself. ~Joseph Campbell~

Dearest Grace,
You are an all American girl!
We are very glad that you are learning the true meaning of Memorial Day. Our soilders are the ones to thank for all the freedoms that we have.
You look extra sweet in your red, white and blue outfit. Love the tutu! I can only imagine how much you loved the parade. Fire trucks, bands, dogs and children. All of your favorites!
I planted my organic and whimical garden yesterday. Wait until you see it. There are vegetables plants and flowers but also, crows, an old barn door, old chairs, and a big rock.....you'll love it, Grace.
Missing you more than all the "rocks" in Middlebury.
I Love You, Cherry Pie!

Dear Grace,

You are such a beautiful American girl. We think you should have been the main attraction for the Memorial Day parade.

Well, enjoy your Tuesday.

Much Love from the 3 Ousdahl Girls:
Mommy, Michaela, and Madelin

Grace, you could have easily been riding in a convertible as the town's Beauty Princess. You could wave to all the people as you go up and down the street, and your arm wouldn't even get tired
(thankfully, Limerick's Main St. isn't that long). Everyone would wave back and smile. Happy Day!
We are so fortunate to have the freedoms and life we have. When we see soldiers, we know that they are there for you and for us, and for all Americans, and we are so grateful.
Wave that flag, little one!!!
Love you beyond the shores of any land,
Memere
