Four Season Trees

We have been talking about the end of winter and the upcoming arrival of spring over the past few weeks. Jack, Eve, Grace and I have all been enjoying more and more outdoor time and we have been delighted to discover many early signs of spring.

I thought it would be fun for my trio to make spring tree paintings to celebrate the beginning of spring next week. Jack and Grace first painted their hands and forearms brown to make a tree trunk and branches. Baby Eve painted her fingers to make her tree. They used pink poms and paint to make blossoms onto their trees. After the spring trees were made Grace asked if we could make trees for the remaining seasons too. In the picture above, Jack is making a summer tree. Needless to say, he had a GREAT time with the activity!

Jack-a-roo added a little green paint onto his face because he was pretending to be a summer tree. He always keeps us laughing!

Baby Eve did such a terrific job painting her four season trees. Eve enjoyed the feeling of the paint on her hands. Grace and Jack painted Eve's fingers and they were all so sweet working together.

Gracie girl was so excited to make her spring tree since purple and pink are currently her favorite colors. Grace added purple marker dots all over her tree because she said the blossoms were blowing off of the branches because it was a windy spring day.

Jack worked so hard to cut tiny pieces of red, orange and yellow construction paper pieces for the autumn trees.

We hung up the four season trees in our playroom today. The addition of the trees have brought about many discussions about the four seasons. They have also inspired us to listen to Vivaldi's Four Seasons all day today. I forgot to take a picture of the finished trees so I'll be sure to post it tomorrow!

Wow, I am constantly so impressed with Rebecca. How many people have a newborn painting? Our kids are so fortunate to have such an incredible Mom.

Hi Rebecca - Just wanted to stop by and say I love checking in on your blog. The girls are just beautiful and that Jack is so adorable! Congratulations on the new house and on baby Eve. She looks just like Grace! Anyway - wanted to say Hi, How are you? and all that good stuff. We are doing well down here in RI. Hope we can all see each other soon. Take care.
