I'm finally back. Things are still so very busy here but they should be settling down a little within the next week or two once soccer season ends! Once again, I REALLY hope to get back to blogging about our daily activities soon.
On Thursday mornings Jack attends a preschool program at Broadturn Farm from 9:30 to 12 and Grace is at school so Eve and I have some special girl time together. We have been having so much fun together. This week we went on an autumn scavenger hunt, read lots of books and painted with apples. Many more pictures to come (hopefully soon!) including visits from Maddy, Poppy, Memere and Pepere, Jack's first day at Broadturn and catching up on all of our fun autumn activities.

Dancer Jack!
Jack started his first dance class at the Maine State Ballet last week. He has dance class every Wednesday morning. Jack couldn't wait to get there and get dancing! Jack has waited so patiently over the past few years to begin dance classes and I am so happy for him.
Jack is the only boy in the class. His teacher is Miss Juliette, who was Grace's ballet teacher last season. Jack was so happy to have Miss Juliette as his dance teacher now!
All of the girls practiced their curtsy at the end of class...then it was Jack's turn to bow. I love how all of the girls stopped to watch Jack!!!
Here is our sweet Eve taking a peek to watch Jack at his first dance class...I know Eve will be out on that floor in a few years too! Eve also loves to dance and she has the two best role models to look up to!

Painting with Cars, Trucks and Buses!
Being Together
We have settled into a new morning routine....we wake up, eat breakfast, brush teeth, get dressed and then gather together in our art room for some writing, drawing or project time. It is this room of ours that bring us all together before we begin the 'busyness' of our day.

Our Newest Dancer!
Soccer
Jack started playing soccer on Tuesday. I am so excited for him. Jack is on a co-ed team with ten other players. Jack is an amazing soccer player and he loved his first practice! Jack will be playing every Tuesday until the middle of October.
Goal!!!!
So, I guess it's really official now...I am a certified "soccer mom," complete with a mini-van and all! :)

The Beach in September
After we dropped Grace off at school yesterday morning we went to the beach. I so love the beach in September. We were the only people there yesterday morning so we had the entire beach to ourselves. It was simply beautiful.

9/11
While we did not discuss the events of September 11, 2001, we did talk about the many ways we can be kind, the ways to solve conflict, the ways we can change the world to be a better place. May the colors created by a child's own two hands give us all hope and reassurance of the goodness that is.

Making Salsa at Pineland Farms!
After we dropped Grace off at school for her first day of kindergarten last week we went to Pineland Farms to participate in their salsa making workshop. The day before I asked Jack and Eve what they wanted to do after we brought Grace to school to make their day extra special and they immediately said, "Pineland!"
The workshop began with a coloring page showing a farmer holding a crate of tomatoes. Eve loves to color so she was very excited to get her own little bucket of crayons for her picture.
After coloring, story time and learning about how tomatoes, peppers, herbs and onions grow we took a walk up to the garden area at Pineland to harvest the ingredients needed for our salsa. Jack and Eve each received their own bag to fill with the tomatoes and green peppers that they picked. You can also see Jack holding some very large green beans....what a great snack to munch on while we walked back to the classroom!
Eve was very proud of the tomatoes she harvested from the garden. She kept checking her bag to make sure they were all still in there!
Once we arrived back in the classroom we made our salsa by cutting up tomatoes, green peppers, onion, cilantro, lime juice and pepper...all fresh from the garden!

Pineland Farms is such a beautiful place. This is the path that we walked, which led us from the garden area back to the classroom.

Yummy!
