We stayed warm in our pajamas all day yesterday as the blizzard of 2010 roared through outside. Luckily, we did not loose power during the storm and baby Eve decided not to arrive on the day of the big blizzard (thank goodness!!!!). Grace and Jack made these cute snowmen inside since we were unable to go out to make them because of the high winds and whiteouts.
Grace and Jack had fun together playing with their winter sensory bin. I filled the bin with rice, blue poms, glittery snowflakes, sparkly beads and a shovel. Jack added some of his trucks to the bin to plow and fill with "snow."

How cute are those snowmen! How cute are Jack and Grace!!
We thought of you all during the day and night and we were so relieved to find out that all was well. Of course, you had the best fun indoors. And that winter bin will be perfect for all those days that it's just too cold to play outside (or TOO busy with a new baby!). I cannot wait to get my hands on/it and play, too! Jack and I can plow through it. I'm all into those glittery snowflakes!
Love "peeking" through the windows of your cozy home at the snow blowing outside!
See you very soon now. Love from here to there,
Maddy

It looks like Grace and Jack had a cozy day indoors. If you don't have to out traveling in it, snow storms are great. The best poem about snowstorms is "Snow-Bound", by Whittier. It starts out:
The sun that brief December day
Rose cheerless over hills of gray,
And, darkly circled, gave at noon
A sadder light than waning moon...
Stay warm!
Love, Poppy
