When Jack woke up yesterday on his second birthday he was so excited to see Mommy, Daddy and Grace walk in and sing Happy Birthday! Once we went downstairs Jack couldn't believe his eyes to see an excavator waiting for him in our living room (excavators are Jack's very FAVORITE trucks!).
Here is Jack's birthday shirt made by Maddy! It is an excavator with the number 2 being held in the excavators shovel -- so perfect for our Jack-a-roo.We spent the morning at one of Jack's favorite places yesterday - the Children's Museum. We then enjoyed a nice lunch with Daddy, some special shopping for Jack in the afternoon and finally a ride on a carousel. Jack-a-roo adds so much joy and laughter to our lives. He is such a sweet, loving and silly little boy. Jack has quite the sense of humor. He kept telling me yesterday that he was three years old and whenever I asked him how many candles we should put on his cake he would smile and say, "Twenty-one!"

I think that our Jack is full [to his little spike on the top of his head!] with such joyful humor. Couldn't you just eat him up!
Do NOT let him speak anything about twenty-one.....candles or years! Mostly because I just know that one day real soon I will turn around and we WILL be singing Happy Birthday to our 21 year old man! Until then and each and everytime I'm with Roo I'm taking in all the little boy fun, love and excitement that I can!

I see that Jack has gotten off his excavator long enough to do a few other things, but I bet that it is his center, continually gravitating back to it. It is the perfect gift for Jack.
His excavator shirt from Maddy is awesome. I don't think that he should take it off except for
a washing.
It is always a happy day, a picker-upper to turn to this blog and gaze at Grace and Jack (and the occasional photo of Rob and the rare photo of Rebecca). My heart swells and swells with love.
