Painting Fall Leaves

Every morning during calendar time Grace & I talk about Fall. Over the past several weeks Grace has been enjoying watching the leaves change to beautiful shades of yellow, red, orange, and brown. After calendar time this morning I found Grace looking out our living room window. I asked Grace what she was looking at and she said, "Watching leaves on trees change color!" Later this morning I thought it would be fun for Grace to make her own tree with the beautiful colors of fall. I drew a bare tree on a piece of paper and cut out four small sponges for Grace to dip into paint to add fall leaves to her tree. Grace loved this activity and asked to do more. She ended up making four fall trees. Once the paint dries I can't wait to put one of Grace's trees in a frame for all of us to enjoy all Fall long!

The leaves were just beginning to change color when we were visiting you, Sweet Grace. You seemed very excited and interested in the colors so this was the perfect project to do. It turned out beautifully. We bet that Mommy was a little surprised when you said that you were looking out the window to watch the leaves change color! It is always a treat for all of us to hear just what it is that you have to say next!
Happy Fall Time,
