Some of my very favorite pictures are the ones that capture simple, everyday moments. They are the ones that reflect real life, real emotion and true expressions. I love this series of pictures of Eve that were taken the other morning at Trader Joe's. Grace and Jack were at a math camp so Eve and I had a few hours of alone time together. It usually doesn't occur to me to take pictures in a grocery store, of all places, but as I was shopping with Eve this morning it really struck me that this will be my life in just a few short weeks when Grace and Jack go back to school...just Eve and Mama. The reality that TWO of my children (that's 66.67% of them!) are going to be at school most of the day became very real to me as I was shopping with Eve today. What also struck me is how very fleeting the time with our children is before they go to school and truly venture off to face the real world. I am still coming to grips with the fact that Grace will be in second grade and that Jack will be starting kindergarten. My time with having each of them at home with me passed so quickly. Just as I did with Grace and Jack, I am going to savor every single moment, the big ones and the simple everyday ones, with my littlest girl until it is time for her to venture off too. I hope to capture many of these little everyday moments through my pictures...for it is these things that I am going to miss the most when school begins again in just a few weeks.
Grocery shopping sure is exhausting!!!

Your beautiful children are so darn cute! I can't wait to meet them! :-)
Rebecca, you are so wise to savor these moments. Also remember that your love initiates and feeds these moments and will be with you forever.
Aren't you the lucky one to have such a hardworking helper?! Her cart is full, obviously making some very good choices that will be appreciated by her brother and sister.
Have a joyous weekend!
Love to each of you,
Memere
