Painting Autumn

To celebrate the beginning of autumn, Grace and Jack painted their very own autumn tree. I drew an outline of a tree on a long piece of paper and taped it onto a tree in our yard. Grace and Jack used brown, orange, red and yellow paint to add autumn leaves.
Here is Grace and Jack's finished autumn tree!!! We later moved their tree to a different tree trunk at the bottom of our driveway to surprise all of our neighbors who drive by our home. At the end of the day we moved the tree again near our front door. Grace and Jack wanted to surprise Daddy with their painting when he arrived home yesterday from his week long business trip to Chicago. Grace and Jack wanted their autumn tree to be the first thing Daddy saw when he returned home!

A masterpiece of color and design!
These little, but proficient, artists have created a piece of work that can stand beside the masters of art. I love their interpretation of autumn.

They look so intent as they paint away. It must have been hard for them to stop. However, their end result must have made them very proud.

I am impressed at how they chose to share their joyous painting with others, neighbors and then a surprise for Dad. I can imagine faces and spirits coming alive when their eyes hit upon Grace and Jack's masterpiece. Way to go, Grace and Jack!
