Celebrating The First Day of Winter

We have had a full day so far filled with activities celebrating the first day of winter! We started off the morning with calendar time. Grace and Jack were SO excited to put the new winter picture symbol onto our calendar door. We also looked at lots of books about winter and discussed all of the fun activities and weather events that go along with winter ~ building snowmen, ice skating, icicles, sledding, snowshoeing, snowballs, snowflakes, frozen lakes, snow plow trucks, etc. It was a fun winter morning here! I'll post more of our winter fun activities this evening. We are going outside for sled rides as soon as Grace and Jack wake up from their afternoon naps.

The solstice...now we can begin to enjoy more light.

I know that all of your winter days will be full of activities indoors and out. Stay cozy and warm.

What a super way to acknowledge the first day of the brrrrr season. Your list of winter words and activities remind me that there is more to winter than snuggling inside. Fuel for thought and maybe a resolution or two.

Happy winter days!
