The plug on our laptop has not working so the battery on our computer is unable to be recharged. Therefore, we have been without a working computer over the past several days. Oh no!!! Bob brought home a spare computer from work today so hopefully I will be able to post pictures of Grace and Jack very soon. :)

Making A Big Splash

We were so very fortunate to have warm weather today so we decided to put our autumn activities on hold in order to extend our summer just one more day!

Celebrating the First Day of Autumn

I surprised Grace this morning by taping pictures of trees that I drew on large pieces of paper all around our yard on various large tree trunks. Grace and I then cut out several sponges in the shape of leaves and Grace used those to dip into red, orange, and yellow paint to create fall leaves on the trees. Grace was most excited to decorate the tree at the bottom of our driveway to surprise all of our neighbors that autumn is here as they drove by.One of Jack's favorite things right now are pumpkins so he had the best time celebrating the first day of autumn by painting pumpkins in his pumpkin pajamas! Later today we visited our local apple orchard to get several more pumpkins to paint and also to find the perfect mum to decorate our table. We had a fun-filled first day of autumn and we have so many more fun autumn activities planned.

Big Fun at Small Steps School of Dance

Grace had her second dance class this morning and she couldn't have been any more excited to dance with Ms. Betsy and all of her new dance friends again! Daddy surprised Grace and Jack by showing up at dance class! Grace loved having Daddy there to help her put on her tap shoes. Jack loves dance class just as much as Grace and having Daddy there made it extra special for Jack too!
Jack LOVES to watch Grace dance and he loves to dance too! Every time Jack hears music he stands up and bounces up and down. Jack decided to join the girls on the dance floor today to show off his dance moves!

Goodbye Summer

After dance class we enjoyed the last day of summer at Mill Creek Park where we ate lunch, fed the ducks, played in the gazebo, crossed the footbridge, and strolled around the pond ~ a perfect way for us to end our beautiful summer.

We loved having Maddy and Poppy with us over the past few days. Maddy and Poppy always leave us with so many fun and silly memories that will keep us laughing for a very long time to come! Happy Grandparent's Day to Memere & Pepere and Maddy & Poppy. Grace and Jack are extremely blessed to have such special grandparents who fill their lives with laughter, caring deeds, wonderful stories, and such tremendous love. We love you all so very much.

The first Grandparent's Day was proclaimed in 1973 in West Virginia by Governor Arch Moore. In 1978, five years after its West Virginia inception, the United States Congress passed legislation proclaiming the first Sunday after Labor Day as National Grandparent's Day. The proclamation was signed by President Jimmy Carter.
