Practicing for the Recital...

Grace and Jack have their piano recital tomorrow night. They were both very excited to practice on a grand piano at their lessons this afternoon.  I am so proud of them!

Goodnight Notes

For the past several nights Grace and Jack have written post-it notes to each other and have asked me to deliver them just before bedtime. Here is the note to Grace from Jack tonight...."Goodnight Grace. Love, Jack. Bye. XOXO. I love you." I hope this continues every night for years & years & years to come!

Jack's Final Dress Rehearsal

Jack had his final dress rehearsal yesterday. Here is Jack waiting back stage just before he practiced his dance for the very last time. The recital is tomorrow...we are all very excited!

It's Almost Recital Time...

It's that time of year again...recital time! Grace and Jack had their first dress rehearsals last week. They are both doing a tap routine this year. Their recital is on Saturday. I love watching Grace and Jack perform and seeing how much joy dance brings them!

A Beautiful Day for Making Dandelion Teas!

Eve spent her morning picking dandelions from our yard. She made two kinds of tea with them...a dandelion sun tea using the whole flower heads and a hot dandelion tea by boiling the yellow flower petals!

 Eve collected dandelions and put them into her little colander!

Eve carefully removed the yellow petals of the dandelions and placed them into a pot. She added water and boiled them for about 15 minutes to make her hot dandelion tea.

Grace & Petey Cat

Our sweet Petey cat had surgery last week to remove a very large growth from his chest. Grace loves, loves, loves Petey so very much and she was nearly heartbroken as we dropped Petey off at the vet last week for his surgical appointment. Grace couldn't wait to get home that night to see Petey in order to really make sure he was okay. When Grace first saw Petey and discovered the six stitches on his chest and a bandage around his leg where the IV was inserted...she cried. Grace was very sad to think of Petey being in any type of pain and it brought tears to her eyes. Grace has such a kind and caring soul and a deep love for all animals.

The first night that Petey was home from surgery, as Grace was getting ready for bed, I found her laying a scarf and papers out along her floor. She made these items into a pathway leading up to her bed. Grace told me she made a "royal walkway" for Petey to walk on.  Very sweet.

Love Locks

Eve and I love this fence filled with "love locks" in Portland's Old Port. It's so beautiful.  I am planning on returning with Grace, Jack and Eve so we can add our own love lock.
