Every November we create a project where we can show the many, many things that we have to be thankful for in our lives. This year we gathered small tree branches from outside and arranged them in a vase to resemble a tree. Each day we write or draw several things that we are thankful for on pieces of paper that resemble autumn leaves and hang them from the branches on our thankful tree. I will be posting pictures of our thankful tree later this week.
Every day when we pick Grace up for school one of the first things she says is to me is that she can't wait to go home because she has, "so much more to be thankful for." Once we arrive home Grace heads straight for our art room to write down her thankful thoughts to hang from our tree. In the picture above Grace is writing how thankful she is for bees because so much of what we eat is pollinated by them! :)

Amazing Grace has the largest and kindest heart of any 5 year old I have ever~ever seen....so true, and it has 'nothing' at all to do with being her Maddy/Grandmother--really.
She knows herself so well at this tender age that she is genuinely thankful for all the things that make her life so full. Gracie is thoughtful and intuitive.
I am loving her thankfulness for ❀bees❀ zzzzzzz! I also have an affection for bees! Please share with Grace that if I had the space I would be a bee-keeper, no doubt! Possibly, Gracie might be a keeper someday!
Soooooo looking forward to seeing your Thankful Tree in this space and for real when we come to share Thanksgiving--my MOST favorite of all the holidays!
Love Beyond the Science of Bees!

What a great activity that goes
even beyond Thanksgiving, developing an affinity and propensity for the big and the small gifts that abound in our lives. My heart expands hearing about it and seeing this played out so beautifully, so readily, so expansively. Way to go, Grace, Jack, and Eve! Way to go, Rebecca!
XOXOXO,
Memere
