February is "National Reading Month!"

A very, very, very big thank you to the always thoughtful, generous, and loving Maddy who surprised Grace with 23 Sandra Boynton books to celebrate "I Love to Read" month. Sandra Boynton is one of Grace's favorite authors. Grace is now able to predict what comes next in her books and names several of the titles all by herself! In the picture below, Grace is looking at one of her new books from Maddy called, "Fuzzy, Fuzzy, Fuzzy!" Grace's favorite area in our home is seen here - near her large basket filled with books.
Grace loves pointing to and naming letters in her books. She especially enjoys the Sandra Boynton books because she loves matching the front cover of the book to the one that is pictured on the back. This Sandra Boynton book is called, "A, An Animal & Adjective Alphabet." Grace can now identify and name over 16 letters but her favorite letter is "G!" Grace turns all the pages in this book until she finds the letter G first."There is no substitute for books in the life of a child."

Hi Grace (aka Gracie Girl), Rebecca (aka Mama), and Bob (aka Dad):
Thanks so much for all these pictures. They really gladden the heart of a grandfather. In my mind's eye, I think back to when Adam and Rebecca were that age and enjoyed books.
Love,
Poppy/Dad/Walt

There's always time to read and Grace has her pick of reading material for a long time to come.
How wonderful that she gets so totally engrossed in books! And that she has such a generous Maddy and Poppy.
XOXOXO,
Memere

Dearest Grace,
Happy National Reading Month! What a great time to be cuddled up in your cozy home with an overflowing basket of books to read and explore... Oh, the places you'll go!
Hugs & Kisses,
Donna in snowy Vermont! I'm cuddled up with a good book today, on this beautiful SNOW DAY!

Dear Grace,

Enjoy reading all of your wonderful books. We think that "G" should stand for "Great Gracie Girl," instead of Grumpy =) If we wrote the book, that is what we would have put for your favorite letter, "G."

Lots of Love,

Melissa and Michaela

My Dear "Little Book Worm",
How I love to see you enjoying your books. Learning new words, finding letters, viewing the pictures, and just the simple yet complicated rereading of the same text over and over brings me a smile and a heart full of joy. I have always pictured a grandchild who would love to read and write. It was a true pleasure to send you a box of books by Sandra Boynton from Amazon. I love February because it is I LOVE TO READ AND WRITE month. I think that your little pointer finger is the key to the future. I think that you are so beautiful when you are engaged in a book! You are an Amazing Reader!
I Love You Grace with your books all around you,
Maddy XO

PS. I love Donna's Snowy Day book in the basket---we had ANOTHER Snow Day off from school again today!

Got Gracie, Jack & Eve?
