Grace Celebrates Read Across America Day!

Grace and I proudly participated in the second annual Read Across America Day today along with thousands of other children across the nation. We spent our day reading all of Dr. Seuss's amazing books! Grace also honored Dr. Seuss's 101st birthday, which was yesterday, by making a painting of the hat from the Cat In The Hat.

"You're never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child."

Dearest Grace,
We celebrated Read Across America at school yesterday, too. From 2:10-2:30PM everyone stopped whatever they were doing and read for 20 minutes. It warmed my heart to see the children enjoying their books so much. I was thinking of you, while I was reading the entire time. I love to see the cozy pictures of you exploring books. I know how many letter, sounds and words that you are able to read already at only 15 months. I could just see that little pointer finger of yours finding all the important things in your books. You are an amazing reader and learner. I love it!
You warm us all the way here in Vermont with your creative exploration. I am so proud of you!
Love, Maddy XO

PS~The hat picture from the Cat in the Hat is fantastic! The Cat in the Hat was in our school yesterday and he visited every classroom.

Got Gracie, Jack & Eve?
