A Happy Easter

We went to Memere and Pepere's house last Sunday for Easter. Grace and Jack always love visiting and playing with their cousins, Rose and Kimberlee. The four cousins are just so cute together!
It was so nice for Grace and Jack to see Julia and Lilliana too. It was such a warm day and all of the children enjoyed playing outside together at Auntie Allison and Uncle Steve's home. Here is Andrew blowing bubbles for all of us. It is hard to believe that Jack will be as big as Andrew is in just a few short years.

Thank you so much to Memere & Pepere for such a fun-filled Easter day. Grace and Jack had a great time playing with Rose, Kimberlee, Julia, Andrew, and Lilliana. It was a special Easter treat for Bob and I to visit with everyone too. Thank you, again!

Another Spring Day At The Beach!

Some of my favorite memories from our day at the beach last Saturday: watching Grace's face beam with pride as she flew our kite so high all by herself, hearing Jack say "up, up, UP" to encourage Grace to fly the kite even higher!, seeing Grace wearing her sweet white vintage dress for the first time (which was made with such deep love from her Maddy), watching Jack point to all of the beautiful sites at the beach, building sand castles with Grace & Jack, watching Jack put his tiny toes into the very cold ocean water and then watching him turn around to run in the other direction!, watching Grace put her toes into the very cold ocean water and then watch her run right into the ocean for more!, seeing Grace & Jack with Daddy, watching Jack do his "upside downs!," smiling as Jack came back up from his "upside downs" to see that the sand had stuck to the sunscreen all over his forehead, twenty tiny sandy toes and twenty tiny sandy hands, splashing in the water, drawing in the sand with sticks, and most of all just being with my two beautiful children and wonderful husband.

Let's Go Fly A Kite

We spent a beautiful day at Fort Williams Park on Friday enjoying the Portland Headlight, the ocean, the green fields, and the first kite flying of the season. Oh, how we love spring!

Maine Maple Sunday

We celebrated Maine Maple Sunday last weekend. This event is held every year on the fourth Sunday in March and it is the day when sugarmakers around the state of Maine open the doors of their sugarhouses for the public to join them in their rites of spring --making maple syrup! Grace and Jack loved visiting the sugarhouse and learning how sap transforms into maple syrup. They also enjoyed sitting on a large John Deere tractor, petting farm animals, and meeting new people. This is an event we look forward to every year!

Mary's Walk

Grace, Jack, Rebecca and Bob were honored to participate in the 13th Mary's Walk in Saco, Maine on Sunday, March 28th. Mary's Walk was originated to honor Mary Kerry Libby's courageous battle with cancer and to raise money to continue advances in research and prevention of cancer. Memere, Pepere, Auntie Allison, and cousins Rose and Kimberlee are pictured above braving the cold weather to cheer on the runners and walkers. The signs inspired one of the walkers to share a story of how her husband's life was saved by a clinical trial funded by events such as Mary's Walk.
Bob's credit union, Town & Country, had more than 20 employees, friends, and family members participate and raise more than $7,500. The team was led by our good friend Brady dog.
Grace rode "up up" most of the 2.5 miles to gain a premier vantage point and to navigate a proper course for the Town & Country group.
Jack rode in style the entire way with Grace occasionally popping in to provide morale support.
The Town & Country group were inspired by one of our employees who continues to courageously fight cancer after many years of chemo, pills, and inspiration. Above, John was honored by a big poster signed by all of the participants expressing how much we care for and admire him.

Higgins Beach

After Maddy left on Thursday we went to music group and then spent the remainder of our day at Higgins Beach. Jack, Grace, and I enjoyed the warm sunshine - something we had not seen in days!! One of Grace and Jack's favorite places to be is at the beach. They both find great joy in simple things such as finding clam shells to dig in the sand, filling shoes and pockets with sand, watching surfers ride the waves, climbing on rocks, searching for seaweed, and waving hello to fellow beach goers.

Saying Goodbye To Maddy

We were all very sad to say goodbye to Maddy on Thursday morning. It is always so hard to see her go back to Vermont. How I wish we lived closer! Maddy is always a bright ray of sunshine and she filled our house with extra laughs, smiles, and sillies while she was with us. Thank you, Maddy, for all that you do for Grace and Jack. We are counting down the minutes until we see you again. We really missed seeing Poppy on this visit and we can't wait to see you both in a few weeks.

Having So Much Fun With Maddy!

Maddy, Grace, Jack, and I went to Peekaboo Play Center together on Wednesday. Grace and Jack had the best time playing with Maddy and what a treat it was for all of us to have her there! Maddy, Grace, and Jack enjoyed imagining, painting, riding, drawing, cooking, making music, sliding, climbing, building, and laughing together.

Got Gracie, Jack & Eve?
