Pineland Farms

We spent today at Pineland Farms. This little John Deere tractor of ours worked so very hard in the hands of our little ones to move hay and feed the cows in the cow barn. More pictures of our day at Pineland Farms coming tomorrow!

Mike's grandfather used to work for John Deere. Mike gave his granddad a John Deere tractor for one of his birthdays. When granddaddy passed away at 92, it came back to Mike and we still have it. This picture reminded me of it. I hope you all are having a great fall. We think of you often.

John Deere lived right here in Middlebury, Vermont. In fact, there is a plaque across from the library that designates the very spot where he apprenticed as a blacksmith. We have a large John Deere tractor store here, too.

I think this picture is so sweet and so telling of your family. I can only imagine how much 'work' all of those little hands did with this tractor. I know how hard all of the vehicles in your collection work....most especially the farm ones.

Melinda, thank you for the story about Granddaddy. It was special reading.

I cannot wait to see more farm photos of the children. I know how much you love your visits to Pineland. How are the cows in your field doing?

Love to all of those little workers,
Maddy
