Peaks Island

On Sunday we took a ferry ride to Peaks Island, which is just off of the coast of Portland.  We spent the day biking around the island and exploring the beaches there.  I took this sweet series of pictures of Eve on our first stop while Grace and Jack ventured off with Bob to explore some of the steeper, rockier areas.  Eve and I enjoyed searching this particular beach for sea glass.  After some time Eve wandered to the water's edge to dip her toes in the water and to watch a passing sail boat.  Many more pictures of our day at Peaks to come but I wanted to share this little series of photographs first.

The Cows are Back!

Our house is surrounded by fields on both sides. Every spring around this time we excitedly wait for the cows to come for the summer. They arrived yesterday afternoon and we are all so happy that they are here! 

The Return of the Swallows in Spring

We have this birdhouse hanging from our front porch and every spring the swallows return to build their nest here.  This is just one of the many, many things that I love so much about spring.  I can't wait to hear the singing of their babies in just a few weeks.

Pine Point Beach

Stars on Ice!

Last month Grace and I went to see Stars on Ice at the Cumberland County Civic Center.  Ever since the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Grace has been a big fan of the figure skater Gracie Gold.  Grace was so excited to have the opportunity to see Gracie perform live.  We also saw the Olympic gold medalist ice dancing pair Charlie White and Meryl Davis.  They were all so incredible to watch!

Recital Day

 Grace and Jack had their ballet recital on Saturday.  Here they are getting ready and waiting until they go on stage!

Dandelion Flower Prints

Every spring we make dandelion flower prints.  This first started when Grace was sixteen months old.  Eve was the first to make yellow dandelion prints this morning.  She picked several dandelions from our yard, dipped them into sparkly yellow paint and pressed them onto paper.  The flower prints always turn out to be so pretty and so perfectly spring!
