This little lady of mine keeps me laughing every day. She has such a big personality that I love so very much! Eve asked to walk her baby outside this morning in the middle of an icy Nor'easter while dressed in a giraffe costume. Eve waved to all of the cars that passed by and told me it was so nice that everyone was looking at her baby in her stroller!
Eve made salt dough this morning. She enjoyed rolling it flat and using different shapes of cookie cutters to make Christmas ornaments for our friends and family.
Poor Jack has been so sick. I picked him up early from school yesterday because he wasn't feeling well. Jack was up most of the night with a stomach virus. He is home with Eve and I today and is laying on the couch right now all warm and snugly while drinking sips of ginger tea to help his little tummy feel better.
There was a two hour delay for school this morning due to the weather. Grace and Jack had a fun morning at home playing Othello together. Grace received this game as a birthday gift yesterday. I remember playing Othello over and over again with my brother when I was their age. Watching Grace and Jack together this morning brought back so many wonderful childhood memories for me!
Jack asked if he could stay up with me past his bedtime tonight to help decorate for Grace's birthday tomorrow. Right now he is decorating one of the doorways with a Happy Birthday banner and streamers so Grace can run through it first thing tomorrow morning. So precious!
Eve asks to paint every day. It's one of her favorite things to do. Eve has definite ideas about what colors, paint brushes, paint strokes, paper and type of paint she wants to use...a future artist perhaps?!!
Grace and Jack are on Thanksgiving vacation and are so excited that it's snowing outside. They are having the best time playing together. It's the best feeling having all three of my children home with me today. I have so much to be thankful for.
While Grace was at a play date with a friend over the weekend and Eve was taking her nap, Jack and I had a special date of our own. We went to a show about the Solar System at the University of Southern Maine's Planetarium. I love going out with this little man of mine. He is a true gentleman and so sweet!
When we got home from piano lessons on Thursday evening Jack went right to our piano to start practicing a new Christmas piece. There is just something so extra special about seeing and listening to a child play Christmas music. This was such a sweet moment in my day!
It's that time of year at our home when three little sets of hands get painted to make the classic hand print turkeys for Thanksgiving. Eve painted her own hands this year. Eve told me, that in addition to the usual turkey feather colors, she also wanted purple and pink paint because, "just like people, all turkeys are different." Eve then said it is these differences that make both people and turkeys "special" and "beautiful."
Here are my two sweet girls snuggling together near the fire to warm up after a morning hike we took outside last weekend. I love how much these two girls love each other.
