Celebrating Read Across America Day

On March 2 we celebrated Read Across America day with millions of other children across the country.  Every year we honor Dr. Seuss's birthday and participate in Read Across America Day by choosing to read our favorite Dr. Seuss books.  Jack and Grace chose The Cat in the Hat and as you can see Eve was very excited to read Green Eggs and Ham!

"The more that you read, the more things you will know.  The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."  ~Dr. Seuss~

"Today you are you!  That is truer than true!  There is no one alive more you-er than you!"  ~Dr. Seuss~

"
"Why fit in when you were born to stand out?"  ~Dr. Seuss~

"From there to here, and here to there, funny things are everywhere!"  ~Dr. .Seuss~

"Today was good.  Today was fun.  Tomorrow is another one."  ~Dr. Seuss~

I will end with one of my favorite quotes:

"I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves."  ~Anna Quindlen~

I LOVE how much Gracie, Jack, and, Eve respect and enjoy books. Grandma is always amazed at how many books the children have and there has never been a torn page. She can't believe that all of your children sleep with books in their beds at night! Wonderful, isn't it!

I love all of the special quotes, Rebecca. The very last one is also one of Dad's favorites. There is nothing at all we possess that give us more pleasure, joy, excitement, knowledge, emotions, and wealth than books.

How I love these beautiful, beautiful readers! May they always have a book close by and have to be told to turn off the light!!

Love, Mom

Got Gracie, Jack & Eve?
