Homemade Sidewalk Chalk!

While Jack-a-roo was napping this morning, Grace made sidewalk chalk! Grace mixed together one cup of plaster of paris with one cup of water and powdered tempera paint. One the desired color was achieved using the powered tempera paint, Grace scooped her chalk mixture into plastic jungle animal molds. Grace is letting her chalk dry overnight and she can't wait to use the chalk on our deck, porch, and easel later this week. I'll be sure to post pictures!

Love those piggy-tails, love the beads and just love our little crafter, cook, scientist, mathematician, and discoverer!

What a great day, when you can make your own chalk. Things like this are exactly what childhood should be like. Oh, the memories. Oh, the learning experiences. Oh, what a sweet, sweet little life in Limerick, Maine.

HAPPY, HAPPY HALF BIRTHDAY TODAY, GRACE !!
You are 2 1/2 years old today! The sun is shinning brightly...just like you! I will be thinking of you all day long. Give your brother a kiss and hug from me on your half birthday.
I Love You, Jack & Grace,
Maddy xo
