Celebrating the First Day of Autumn

I surprised Grace this morning by taping pictures of trees that I drew on large pieces of paper all around our yard on various large tree trunks. Grace and I then cut out several sponges in the shape of leaves and Grace used those to dip into red, orange, and yellow paint to create fall leaves on the trees. Grace was most excited to decorate the tree at the bottom of our driveway to surprise all of our neighbors that autumn is here as they drove by.One of Jack's favorite things right now are pumpkins so he had the best time celebrating the first day of autumn by painting pumpkins in his pumpkin pajamas! Later today we visited our local apple orchard to get several more pumpkins to paint and also to find the perfect mum to decorate our table. We had a fun-filled first day of autumn and we have so many more fun autumn activities planned.

Love this amazing welcoming idea, Rebecca!

What an early "treat" for your neighbors. You have the very best ideas.

I could just squeeze Jack in those pumpkin pajamas! Grace's expression is timeless, just like her.

Love and Happy Fall Time,
Maddy
