Twelve Weeks Old

Grace visited her pediatrician this week. She now weighs 12 pounds, 15 ounces and is 23 1/2 inches long. The doctor gave Grace an "A+" on her overall development and commented on how strong Grace is. Good for you Gracie girl!!

A very special thank you to Maddy for all of Grace's beautiful blankets. Maddy has spent countless hours making all of Grace's blankets. She personalizes each one with a very special touch. Grace always feels close to her Maddy when she is wrapped snuggly in one of her warm blankets.

The Three Amigos

The Leger cats were getting very upset that they have not yet been featured. So here they are with a little introduction to each of their very distinct personalities....
EMMA (The Smart One)

LIL' BIT (The Confused One)....actually she was featured as "The Blob" in an earlier posting but she forgot.

PETEY (The Black & White One)

Peace treaty. Our first babies.

A Leisurely Stroll Down Leisure Lane in Limerick, Maine

"My natural Uncle Adam wanted to make my first snowperson totally organic but leave it to Mommy to turn it into a snowgirl by adding the synthetic pink hat!"

"I'm such a big girl now that I'm facing forward in my front pack. So this is where I live. Wow, I really am a country girl. Look at all that flannel. Hello?? Where is everybody? And what's with all the "Beware of the Dog" signs posted on everyones house?"

Country road, take me home....

I'm Wrinkled Like A Raisin.....

"How dirty do Mommy & Maddy think I am? Wow, I thought Mommy was a super cleaner but Maddy is a SUPER DUPER cleaner. Mommy & Maddy are always trying to get me into the bath. They think those Clorox wipes are the best things around but just you wait, I'll invent a whole new formula that will make them proud! Thank goodness they only use the soft baby wipes on me!" --Squeaky Clean Baby Grace

Center Stage...

"I couldn't help but be inspired by the WISH sign in the window so with some help from my Mommy I showed off some baby steps to my Maddy and Uncle Adam! Since I have the best audience to display all of my many talents I couldn't help but take a little curtsey." --Baby Grace

Great Fun with Uncle Adam!

"Uncle Adam has introduced me to a whole new slice of life. He has already taught me so many new ideas about life! Uncle Adam has facts about books, music, history and life that only Uncle Adam can teach me. How very lucky I will be to be to have a whole lifetime with my peaceful and gentle Uncle. Do you know how there is always someone in your life that you can count on to be there for you always -- well that person for me is my Uncle Adam! I love you Uncle Adam"

Double Digits!

Grace is eleven weeks old. Wow! Where has the time gone? Some of Grace's favorite things now are:
  • Mouthing toys and her hands -- Grace's hands are a VERY BIG hit right now!
  • Sound play with Mommy
  • Music -- Mozart symphonies & her personalized Grace CD from Aunt Donna, Uncle Brian, & the Woolner cousins are among Grace's favorites!
  • Daily massage time (lucky girl!!!)
  • Dancing -- especially the Hokey Pokey
  • Looking at pictures and books with Mommy & Daddy -- especially all of the wonderful textured animal books from her Maddy & Poppy
  • Watching her fun crib mobile from Memere & Pepere
  • ....and of course listening to all of her Daddy's silly songs!
Look what I can do now!

Daddy's Little Girl

Mommy & Daddy have agreed that little Grace can do all the redneck things with Daddy -- just as long as she wears pink.

Let It Snow!

"Hooray! We got over a foot of snow. I can finally wear my snowsuit and go outside to play."

"Hey, wait a minute.....does my snowsuit make me look fat?"

"I love the snow!"
"Peek-a-boo."

"Mommy? Daddy? Where did everybody go?"

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
This is a very big day for me -- not only is it my first Valentine's Day but I've also branched out fashion wise. Forget my usual pink, I'm all about red today!

Sitting Pretty

I'm a big girl now. First I sit, next it's solid foods, then off to college by the end of the week! Mommy & Daddy can't believe how much I've grown up already.
I'm a real hard worker. I work every day on holding my head up, rolling over & making sounds - and they tell me I'm doing great!

Hands!

"I'm so happy -- I have discovered my hands!"
Tiny hands grow so fast
Their awkward groping soon will clasp
A ball, a book, their mother's hand
A diploma, briefcase, wedding band.
___________________________
Tiny hands grow so strong
It doesn't take them very long
To snap a shirt, to paint, to draw
To work hard, to drive a car.
___________________________
Tiny hands that are ours to love
The sweetest gift from God above
A miracle that never is surpassed
How sad they grow up way too fast.

What Is That Thing??

"What fun it is to sit up and look around at everything! I thought I had figured out what everything is and how things work except for one thing - What in the world is that big black blob over there? Mommy & Daddy refer to that mysterious thing as, "Lil' Bit." I have yet to see it move. Is it alive?"

Total Happiness!

From the looks of it, Grace couldn't have been any happier spending her eight week birthday with her Maddy & Poppy in Middlebury, Vermont. We are quite certain that Maddy & Poppy feel the same way too! They are madly in love with their "Gracie girl."

Amazing Grace goes to VERMONT!

Poppy & his Sweet Baby Cheeks
Grace couldn't get enough of Poppy's bright yellow Cheerios shirt. She couldn't stop looking at it. On our way back to Maine Grace told us that she thinks her Poppy is one cool dude!!

Maddy & her Gracie girl

It is so special for me to see Grace and my Mom together. They are my two favorite girls! I see so much of my Mom in Grace - everything from the shape of their eyes and mouth to their beautiful cheeks! I hope I will be the kind of mother to Grace that my Mom is to me. My wish is for Grace to grow up to be just like her Maddy. I love them both so much.

Mommy & Grace
I love you Grace - for always & forever and all the days in-between.

Daddy & Grace
Bob is the BEST father and husband. One of my favorite things is watching Bob and Grace together. He is the most caring and gentle Daddy (and definitely the funniest too!). I especially love how he sings to Grace -- he's got it covered, everything from lullabies and childrens songs to reggae and his own rap and opera renditions. He also does the best performance to the song "Gracie Girl."

Yummy!

The only thing better than the taste of fresh denim is a trip to see Maddy & Poppy in Vermont! I spent my eight week birthday with my Mommy's parents and grandparents. Of course, eating denim is a lot more conversative than a lot of stuff that goes on in the most liberal state in the Union.

I May Have Partied Too Much....

"I think I may have stayed up beyond my bedtime and drank too much milk....going to Vermont sure is fun!!!!"

Is Grace a Pirate?

Mommy & Daddy: "Grace, you are not a pirate!"
Grace: "But I wanna be a pirate!"
(Has Grace been watching Seinfeld?)
So I guess our little Grace wants to be a pirate when she grows up. She has done the "pirate look" (one eye open) since the day she was born. Grace's pediatrician told us last week that Grace, "Doesn't miss a trick." This is definitely true. Grace can be sound asleep when suddenly the slit of one of her little blue eye opens up just enough to check out what's going on around her. We think her first words might be, "Arrr, matey!" For Grace's nine week birthday we'll have to get her a patch -- a PINK eye patch of course!

Got Gracie, Jack & Eve?
