Living in a house full of all girls, sometimes a boy just needs a break...in a tub filled full of bubbles, of course!!! wink emoticon

Ringing in the New Year...

Grace, Jack, Eve and I  celebrated the beginning of the new year with confetti filled eggs!  I'm a lucky mama that my three little ones are always so helpful when it comes to vacuuming!!  wink emoticon

Eve's Birthday Day!

Getting Ready for Eve's Birthday...

The evening of December 6, 2015

Grace and Jack had been talking for several weeks before Eve's birthday about getting ready for her special day, which was on January 7! They were both so excited for Eve's birthday. After Eve went to sleep on January 6th, Grace and Jack stayed up late to decorate the staircase with notes, cards and streamers for the birthday girl!

Love

Every morning Jack helps me load wood into the fireplace. This morning as he was putting the wood in he turned to me and said, "Mama, I can't burn this piece of wood...it's a heart for you!" Jack is such a sweet and thoughtful boy.

Bringing the Snow Inside...

Grace, Jack and Eve made their own snow storm inside (using shaving cream)...all of the fun of playing with "snow" without any of the cold!  Here are some pictures of all the fun!

Learning to Iron!

Look who is learning to iron! For anyone who knows me, you can imagine how very excited I am with this since I pretty much iron just about everything. Go Gracie!!!

Differing Styles...

Grace and Jack love music and I always find it quite interesting how they each approach music so differently, especially piano. Grace takes her piano practicing very seriously. She pays close attention to all of the little details within the music and I always find her sitting at the piano with an exact, upright posture. I see her really excelling at classical music. In contrast, Jack tends to "feel" the music more and his idea of proper piano posture is having one leg up as he taps out the rhythm as he plays. He enjoys straying from the notes written on the page and improvising. I see Jack more as a blues, jazz or rock pianist. Their differing styles will be sure to fill our home with music from all genres for many, many years to come!

Sweet Eve

Eve's indoor soccer season started earlier this month. She is on the Lions team. You can see what a little peanut Eve is...she is the first girl in line. Although tiny, Eve certainly holds her own out there on that soccer floor. Way to go, Eve. That's my girl!!! wink emoticon
The other morning I thought of Jack when I first woke up, looked outside and discovered that it had snowed overnight and that it was still snowing. Jack LOVES the snow so I was excited to wake him up to tell him...

Me: "Good morning, Jack. I have something really exciting to tell you!"

Jack: "Oh my goodness...did scientists discover life form on another planet?"

I am thinking that my "exciting" news of the snow paled a bit in comparison to discovering life on another planet, but nevertheless Jack was excited to get outside to do some shoveling before school that morning!

Snow Dough

It was too cold to go outside and play in the snow earlier this month so Eve made her own snow dough to play with inside.
4 cups of flour + 1/2 cup baby oil = snow dough.
...and that's it! The dough is super soft yet moldable. This has always been one of our favorite sensory activities.

Some Day...

Here were Grace, Jack and Eve watching the older ballerinas practice as they waited for their own dance classes to begin the other week at Maine State Ballet.

Making Music

Grace loves reading biographies and she has been enjoying the "Who Was?" book series. Grace especially enjoys reading about the extraordinary achievements of women throughout history and how they have helped to change our world.
